COMPETITIVE CATEGORY OF PENCAK SILAT
- This is a competition between two pesilat (opponents) from different teams. Both opponents face each other, utilizing defensive and offensive elements: counterattacks, evasions, punches, kicks, and throws, all while employing individual competitive tactics and techniques.
- To score the highest number of points, participants must demonstrate a variety of movements (jurus), adherence to principles (kaidah), and combinations of steps (polalangkah), as well as endurance, resilience, and fighting spirit.
DISCIPLINE “TUNGGAL” (SOLO PERFORMANCE)
COMPETITIVE CATEGORY OF PENCAK SILAT
- This is a competitive category in which a pesilat (a single competitor) performs mandatory individual movements (jurus baku tunggal) in a precise and expressive manner, both with and without weapons.
DISCIPLINE “GANDA” (PAIR PERFORMANCE)
COMPETITIVE CATEGORY OF PENCAK SILAT
- This is a competitive category in which two pesilat (two competitors) from the same team showcase their skills and demonstrate a variety of offensive and defensive movements (jurus). The offensive and defensive movements are performed in a dance-like, efficient, aesthetic, and sequential manner. The performance must be well-organized, with variations in speed—fast, slow, or meditative. The movements are executed both with and without weapons.
DISCIPLINE “REGU” (TEAM PERFORMANCE)
COMPETITIVE CATEGORY OF PENCAK SILAT
- This is a competitive category in which three competitors from the same team showcase their skills in mandatory team movements (jurus baku regu) with precision and according to established guidelines. The performance highlights expressiveness and synchronization, executed without weapons.
DISCIPLINE “SOLO CREATIVE” (INDIVIDUAL FREESTYLE PERFORMANCE)
COMPETITIVE CATEGORY OF PENCAK SILAT
- This is a competitive category in which a pesilat (a single competitor) expressively performs mandatory individual movements (jurus baku tunggal) in a self-composed sequence, incorporating the styles of the snake, monkey, and tiger. The movements are executed both with and without weapons.
